Lions Club

Mangakahia Lions Club:

Formed in 1969, members of the Mangakahia Lions club have been true to their motto - We Serve.

Our emphasis is on community service in all forms. Lions programs serve the young and the aged, the disabled and the disadvantaged - anybody who has a need.

Meetings are held twice a month at The Sports Complex.

2nd Tuesday of the month : Business Meeting 7.30pm

4th Tuesday of the month : Dinner Meeting 6.30pm

We change officers in July and the incoming President will be John Rummery.

2015 News:

Lions will have 2 golf tournaments ( Mens in April/May and Ladies in November)
Our country meal will be November and the senior citizens lunch in December.
We will start selling firewood from march for $80 per cubic meter. It is dry, hard and hot burning gum.
In December 2012  we installed a defibrillator (AED) in the Poroti Tavern. It is available for anyone in need during a cardiac arrest.
It is very simple to use , the machine talks the user through the process.
